London calling! Hopefully, the Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders show up better than Tottenham did against Bayern Munich. Enough futbol, more Fantasy Football. Week 5 is another interesting one. Davante Adams is likely out, Saquon Barkley might play one week after suffering a high-ankle sprain and Sam Darnold doesn’t want to die. Well Sam, most people don’t want to die. However, for the sake of Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder’s Fantasy value, we might need you to risk it. Let’s jump into Week 5!

QB

At first glance, Philip Rivers’ matchup might seem bad as the Broncos are allowing the fourth-fewest Fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. However, three of the quarterbacks they’ve include Derek Carr, Mitchell Trubisky, and Gardner Minshew, not exactly murderer’s row. Rivers has been consistent, too. Rivers has thrown for 293 or more yards in every game and has multiple TD passes in three of four. People will see Melvin Gordon’s return as a negative for Rivers but he throws a ton to the running backs. A lot of the time, what those running backs do comes on a pass from Rivers. A little further down, if Kirk Cousins can’t get it done this week, he never will. Yes, the Vikings want to run the football. Minnesota has a 52.7-percent rush percentage, the second-most in the NFL. With Adam Thielen calling out Cousins and the offense for not throwing the ball, they’ll take some shots in this game and it’s a good matchup. The Giants are allowing the sixth-most Fantasy points to quarterbacks so far this season, as they boast one of the worst secondaries in the league. If Cousins can’t take advantage here, he’s toast.

RB

There is definitely a risk in any backfield that boasts three or more backs but I’ll take my chances with the best offense in the NFL. All offseason, we heard how Damien Williams was the guy for Andy Reid and the Chiefs. They backed up the talk by handing Williams a contract extension. Well, a LeSean McCoy trade and a bum knee later, Damien finds himself in a full-blown committee. The crazy part is this offense might able to support McCoy, Damien, and Darrel Williams. In Week 4 alone, the Chiefs had 10 red-zone carries! It’s also a good matchup going up against the Colts who are allowing 4.98 yards per carry to running backs and the ninth most Fantasy points to the position. Damien has practiced in full so far this week and if/when he suits up, he’s a high-end flex option in this matchup. If you need another flex-ish back, I like what I’ve seen from Royce Freeman. Yes, he splits time with Phillip Lindsay quite evenly but Freeman is averaging almost five targets per game. Additionally, the Chargers are 21st in run defense DVOA while the Broncos have the sixth-best adjusted-line yards. Keep trusting Freeman as a flex option or bye-week replacement.

WR

This is chalky play but trust Will Fuller has a high-end WR3 in his Week 5 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Everything is setting up for this to be a match made in heaven. The Falcons defense, specifically their secondary, has completely fallen off the map. Over the past two weeks, they’ve five touchdowns to wide receivers alone. Fuller is close, too. He’s had at least six targets in three straight games plus Kenny Stills will either miss this game or be severely limited. Despite seeing 13 fewer targets than Hopkins this season, Fuller has seen 29% of the team’s air yards. A long touchdown is coming in this spot against the Falcons. Mark. My. Words. The flavor of the week is Auden Tate and why not? John Ross has been placed on Injured Reserve plus I truly believe AJ Green has played his last game with the Bengals. All the while, Tate has a juicy matchup going up against a Cardinals secondary sans Patrick Peterson. Tate is a big body who actually leads the Bengals with nine red-zone targets this season. He’s in a good spot as a starter going up against this Cardinals defense.

TE

Very quickly, I’ll mention I am a big fan of both Tyler Eifert and Jimmy Graham this week. The Cardinals are historically bad against the tight end plus the Packers will likely be without Davante Adams. OK, chalk out of the way. Another streaming tight end I like this week is Jack Doyle going up against the Kansas City Chiefs as an 11-point underdog. The Chiefs are allowing the sixth-most Fantasy points to tight ends and Doyle is coming off a game where he scored a touchdown and had eight targets. Doyle also severely out-snapped Ebron (56-27) and ran more routes (27-22). This would be more enticing if Hilton doesn’t play BUT he did return to practice Thursday so pay attention to that.
