Of course, the implicit part of that agreement is that we would help you FIND said quarterbacks, kickers, tight ends and defenses! We have had quite a successful year with streaming suggestions and hope to keep that positive momentum.

Streaming has been pretty successful for us and we have seen a few players (Josh Allen, Jacoby Brissett, Gerald Everett, and Zane Gonzalez) go from streaming options to bonafide fantasy football starters which is the whole point of streaming in the first place!

The RotoExperts rankings and projections will guide you in making streaming and start/sit decisions, and the RX staff will be in the Daily Roto slack to answer questions for RotoExperts subscribers as well.

Streaming Notes: All players in this weekly column will be under 50% owned in Yahoo! Fantasy Football. A given player might be owned in your league but is not owned in all leagues. FAAB bids will be listed during the regular season but you know your league better than I do. FAAB dollars are also worth more the earlier they are spent in the calendar, so keep that in mind while streaming QB/K/TE/DST.

Week Eight Fantasy Football Streamers

Week Eight Quarterback Fantasy Football Streamers

Matt Stafford– So I am slightly cheating on this one because depending on the site you draw percentages from, Stafford is owned between 50-75%. Is he out there in your league? Only you can say but Stafford is such the nuts this week that he needed to be included. He is the QB12 in fantasy at the moment and having his best season EVER in yards per attempt. Even in his 5,000 yard season, he was not playing as well as he is now.

Stafford also gets an elite matchup against the New York Football Giants who might be the worst team in the NFL other than the Dolphins. Dak Prescott, Jameis Winston, and Josh Allen all had QB1 games against the Giants. Where QB’s can get into trouble against New York is when their team gets up by so many points that they stop throwing. I think that the injury to Kerryon Johnson will shift the Lions to being a slightly more pass-heavy team especially in the redzone which mitigates a bit of that risk for Stafford.

Mason Rudolph – Are the Steelers going to be one of the run-heaviest teams in the projections this week at Daily Roto? Yes, without a doubt. They are MASSIVE favorites against the Dolphins, over 14 points at most books. In fact, this is a true fact: The Dolphins have only allowed 300+ yards passing against Lamar Jackson and Philip Rivers. However, the way quarterbacks get there against Miami is with touchdowns. Every quarterback who has faced Miami has racked up at least two touchdowns, including Josh Allen and Case Keenum. Does that mean Rudolph is locked into two touchdowns? Of course not. However, in deeper formats and in leagues where you are without Dak Prescott or Lamar Jackson (as many of my teams are), Rudolph can help you scrape by this week.

If You’re Desperate: Ryan Tannehill

Week Eight Kicker Fantasy Football Streamers

Dan Bailey- Kickers against the Washington professional clowns might be as close to as good as kickers against the Arizona Cardinals. They have allowed at least 24 points in four of their six games and were steamrolled by every decent team (Patriots, Eagles, Cowboys and even the Bears). There is also a little bit of the Thursday Night Football element here, as those games do tend to post lower overall totals and higher field goal numbers but that is likely noise over an inconclusive sample. Bailey will be a top 10 kicker this week and the guy I am adding in most of my personal leagues where Brett Maher is on bye.

Josh Lambo- A home kicker against a defense that just let Tom Brady and Dak Prescott march all over them with a turnover-prone quarterback is a recipe for success. Generally, when we are aiming for streaming kickers, we want them associated with high team totals. You will find higher than Jacksonville’s 22.5 out there on the board but Lambo is actually a big part of the Jags offense (especially when they win). He has had at least two field-goal attempts in every game that Jacksonville has played this season and four makes in their wins against Denver and Cincinnati.

Week Eight Tight End Fantasy Football Streamers

Vance McDonald – Coming off of a one target for five yards game against the Chargers and then heading into his bye week, McDonald was dropped in a fair number of leagues. He is slightly over 50% owned in Yahoo! leagues but I am going to give myself a pass for this one like I did with Stafford. If we like Mason Rudolph, we have to like some of his pass-catching options and McDonald is one of those guys who could have a boom week. He has been playing around 65% of the Steelers snaps since returning and is exclusively being used as a route-runner and not blocking near as much as Nick Vannett.

Irv Smith – The biggest beneficiary this week of the injury to Adam Theilen might end up being Irv Smith Jr. When Thielen left the game early last week, Smith played his season-high in snaps (41), ran the most routes yet this season and saw his high in targets (six) with five receptions for sixty yards. Smith Jr. is not going to hold any long term value like someone such as Dawson Knox (another passable streamer this week against Philadelphia) but in this specific match up with a team total of 28, we are into Irv Smith.

Week Eight Defense/Special Teams Fantasy Football Streamers

Structural DST Streaming Philosophy: The core tenants of finding a good streaming defense are finding a home defense that is going to face a lot of passing attempts. While your league settings might differ, in general, what we are chasing is sacks, turnovers and the main goal is finding DST touchdowns. DST touchdowns happen most often on passing plays as opposed to rushing plays.

Pittsburgh Steelers – Somehow available in 51% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues, the Steelers are far and away the best streaming defense this week and it is not close. The Miami Dolphins, even under Ryan Fitzpatrick, have been a streamer’s dream thus far. They have thrown only four touchdown passes but have thrown 214 passes. No team has thrown more interceptions than the Dolphins and just because Fitzpatrick starts the game does not mean that he will finish it. If the Steelers are out there, go and get them.

Detroit Lions- Daniel Jones has now started five NFL games. He has at least two fumbles or interceptions in all but one of those games. His arm has looked good in some spots but he makes some downright Osweiler-esque decisions while standing in the pocket. The Lions are a home favorite defense against one of the most turnover-prone quarterbacks currently playing in the NFL. The Lions defense has not been good this season (bottom third in expected points and DVOA) but as we have consistently maintained, more points are scored from sacks and turnovers than simply limiting points.
