fans will say Peyton Manning or perhaps Joe Montana. Some will argue that regular season stats don’t really measure up the quarterback position and that playoff or Super Bowl appearances really tell the story. No matter which quarterbacks you think are the best ever, the five pivots below have to be on your list somewhere. Let’s look at one subjective list of the best quarterbacks of all time.

Brett Favre – Favre is best remembered for having one of the strongest arms of any quarterback ever. He is also known for his tremendous record of playing 297 consecutive regular season and playoff games. He finished his career with 71,838 passing yards and 506 touchdowns. Favre was the face of the Green Bay Packers for 16 years and helped lead them to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 1996 and 1997, winning it all in 1996. Favre also won three NFL MVP awards over his career. Steiner Sports celebrates Favre’s career with a pair of signed authentic Green Bay Packers helmets among other Favre memorabilia.

Dan Marino – The best quarterback to never win a Super Bowl, Marino spent 17 years at the helm of the Miami Dolphins’ offense. He is the best pure passer among the top quarterbacks; he had a quick release and an ability to throw into double and triple coverage like no other quarterback ever. Marino made it to just one Super Bowl during his 17 years, losing to Joe Montana’s 49ers. His best season was 1984, when he completed 362 passes for 5,084 yards and 48 touchdowns. Among the Dan Marino items at Steiner Sports you’ll find some great pictures, including several that are autographed.

John Elway – Elway was a two-sport athlete in college and probably could have played baseball professionally. However, he chose football and went on to have a stellar career. He led the Denver Broncos to multiple AFC championships but had to wait until his final two years to win Super Bowls. He passed for 51, 475 yards and 300 touchdowns over his career. Steiner Sports has an autographed football and several unique autographed pictures of Elway available for the Orange Crush fan.

Tom Brady –  As the only active quarterback on this list, Brady is still making history. He’s already led the Patriots to four Super Bowl wins in six appearances. Brady has been selected for the Pro Bowl 11 times, including each of the last seven consecutive seasons. Some folks would say he belongs at the top of this list, and he could easily end up there if he ever retires. He’s still at the top of his game at age 39. Brady has only one season (2008) in which he didn’t start all 16 games since becoming the starting quarterback of the Patriots. Steiner Sports has nearly two dozen Tom Brady related items, including several unique pictures and signed items.

Joe Montana – “Joe Cool” was a “money” quarterback. Whenever a big game needed someone to step up and lead the way to victory, Montana obliged. Montana executed the “West Coast offense” to perfection and led the 49ers to four Super Bowl wins during his career. To this day, his postseason record stands as one of the best. He completed 83 passes in 122 attempts for 1,142 yards and 11 touchdowns with zero interceptions in the four Super Bowls in which he played. The Montana to Jerry Rice passing duo is still considered one of the most prolific in NFL history.  Steiner Sports has dozens of Joe Montana memorabilia items. These include signed footballs and pictures, but one picture stands out. It’s the picture of “The Catch” made by tight end Dwight Clark against the Dallas Cowboys, signed by both Clark and Montana.
