NFL Playoffs 2016: AFC & NFC Championship Predictions

Broncos Slightly Edging Patriots, favorites over Panthers

The Denver Broncos and New England Patriots meet in the AFC championship game to pit Peyton Manning and Tom Brady against one another for what will likely be the last time. Carolina Still Ahead in NFC

Cam Newton and the Panthers showed exactly why they are the NFC’s best hope in the first half against the Seahawks. In the second half, they nearly blew the game. However, the computer still gives Cam and company a healthy edge over Carson Palmer’s Cardinals. The Cardinals were far from perfect in the divisional round with Palmer making a few head-scratching throws.

Regardless, the AFC appears to be the stronger conference in a one-off game on neutral ground, so whether it’s the Broncos or Patriots, the Panthers expect to be underdogs when Mr. Lombardi is on the line. If it's Patriots versus Panthers, the computer currently gives New England a 52.5% to 47.5%.
