Predictions: Real Madrid vs Manchester United (Updated)

AccuScore’s simulation computer, which correctly calculated value on the draw in the first leg, simulated this match 10,000 times based on the lineups listed above.

Manchester United won 28.4 percent of the simulations, and the top scorers for United were Robin Van Persie (54 percent) and Nani (16 percent). The unexpected drops of Shinji Kagawa and Wayne Rooney hurt United in the computer's eyes.

Real Madrid won 48.3 percent of the time. Cristiano Ronaldo was the most likely scorer in the match at 64 percent to score. Gonzalo Higuain scored in 34 percent of simulations, and Mesut Ozil found the target 17 percent of the time.

AccuScore's simulations saw Real Madrid average 2.1 goals per simulation. Manchester United averaged 1.59 across 10,000 simulations. Due to the drops to Rooney and Kagawa, Manchester United is now an underdog at home.

Based on the away goals rule, even a 2-2 score line would be good enough for Real Madrid to go through.

Pick: Juventus -1.5 at 2.040

Juventus won 3-0 away from home in the first leg. With Celtic desperate to score, out matched for quality, and playing away from home, Juventus winning by two or more goals is easily plausible. With Giorgio Chiellini back from injury, Juve’s defense is strong enough to stop the opposition from scoring, and Mirko Vucinic is quality enough to get one. Sebasitian Giovinco is in good enough form to double the tally. Alessandro Matri, if he starts, is also looking sharp at this point in the season.

Juventus does not need to win by two goals, but the Old Lady of Italian football should make a statement with another solid win and a couple goals to go with it.
