1. Aaron Rodgers (GB): Aaron Rodgers is back at the top of the list, after his week eight bye. The Packers quarterback has been the best in football with 200 touchdowns and 2,372 passing yards on the season. Expect him to continue to light it up this Sunday against San Diego. Projected fantasy points: 22.9.
2. Drew Brees (NO): Drew Brees had a tough game last week in the loss to the St. Louis Rams. He threw two picks and only one touchdown. Brees hasn’t been as consistent as fantasy owners would like, but this week the Saints play at home against a subpar Bucs defense. Brees should return to his usual impressive self. Projected fantasy points: 21.3.
3. Michael Vick (PHI): Vick and the Eagles offense went off on the Cowboys defense this past week. Number seven threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns with incredible efficiency. The Eagles offense is ranked in the top ten in both passing and rushing yards, and Vick consistently puts up good fantasy numbers with his arm and his feet. Projected fantasy points: 20.9.
4. Tom Brady (NE): Tom Brady lost the quarterback duel to Ben Roethlisberger last Sunday. Brady, thanks to the dominant Steelers offense, was kept off the field and only accumulated 198 yards passing and two touchdowns. The Patriots have another tough opponent this week in the New York Giants, but the Pats never lose two straight and Brady will undoubtedly have a great game. Projected fantasy points: 20.7.
5. Tony Romo (DAL): Romo did not play well against the Eagles, throwing for just 203 yards, one touchdown, and one pick. The Cowboys quarterback has underperformed all year, but is capable of putting up big numbers any given Sunday. This Sunday could be one of those days as Dallas hosts Seattle. Projected fantasy points: 18.2.
Not top 5, but could be: This week’s quarterback that just missed the cut but is primed to have a big day is New York’s Eli Manning. Manning has quietly put together another solid year, throwing for 13 touchdowns and five picks. This week the Giants play the Patriots. New England has the worst passing defense in the league, so I expect Manning to have a big day. Projected fantasy points: 16.6.
