Redskins vs Cowboys: Monday Night

Despite both Dallas and Washington entering Week 8's MNF showdown on opposite sides of the spectrum, history tells us the game might not be as much of a blowout as many are expecting. According to ESPN.com's Todd Archer, only two of the past 12 meetings between these two teams have been decided by more than one touchdown.

Dallas enters this week coming off a 31-21 win over the New York Giants in Week 7. Washington enters the matchup following a close 19-17 win over Tennessee, a game that saw Colt McCoy replace Kirk Cousins in the second half to lead the team to victory.

With a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals just days ahead for Dallas, Washington just might have a chance if they can catch the Cowboys looking ahead.

Redskins vs Cowboys: What to Watch For

Colt McCoy’s Efficiency: Washington’s only shot at even keeping this game close rests in the hands of their unproven QB. In the 31 percent of simulations where Washington wins, Colt McCoy averages 1.65 TD passes to 0.33 interceptions. In losses, he’s averaging 1.05 TDs to 0.54 interceptions. Since entering the league in 2010, McCoy has averaged 6.33 yards per pass attempt. League average during that period has been 7.3 ypa.

Washington X-Factor: Washington RB Alfred Morris averages 92 rushing yards and 0.72 rushing TDs in the simulations in which WAS wins, and 73 yards and 0.36 TDs in losses.

DeMarco Murray is Unstoppable: What DeMarco Murray has done so far this season has been nothing short of extraordinary. In his last 11 games overall, Murray has eclipsed the 100-yard mark in 9 of them. Not only is Murray is projected to finish with 102 rushing yards, he also has a 58 percent chance of having at least 1 rushing touchdown.

Dallas Pass Rush: While the Dallas offense is firing on all cylinders with Romo, Murray and Bryant, the defense does have plenty of room for improvement. They've showed inconsistencies, especially when it comes to rushing the passer well. So far this season, the defense has benefitted from the fact that the offense really hasn't had an off game. They only have seven sacks in seven games - that's not going to get it done.
