NFL Thursday Night Football: Ravens vs Steelers
Alright, it’s time to move past Ray Rice and domestic violence. The only domestic violence AccuScore wants to discuss on Thursday night is the violence that will occur when Joe Flacco and Ben Roethlisberger throw over the middle of the field.
As the computer is accustomed to doing, it ran 10,000 simulations using advanced stats, players and factors that impact this week’s Thursday Night Football game, i.e. not Ray Rice.
So what were the results?
Week 2 Kicks off Thursday Night
Well, the computer likes the Ravens and gives the purple colored team from Baltimore a 62.6% chance to win on Thursday night. A big part of the computer’s belief in Baltimore is the battle between Flacco and Roethlisberger.
Although Big Ben is projected for 274.7 yards--five yards more than Flacco--the Baltimore quarterback is projected to be more efficient and end with a higher QB rating. Flacco average more touchdowns and fewer interceptions than Roethlisberger.
Also, Steve Smith, Torrey Smith and Dennis Pitta provide Baltimore with a more balanced passing threat than Pittsburgh’s Antonio Brown and Heath Miller assault. Brown does the heavy lifting for the Steelers and is projected for another 100+ yard outing, so fantasy players should start the Steelers’ standout wide-out. Miller is also a key target and averages 6.0 receptions and 63.7 yards for the game.
Still, when it comes down to picking results, the computer likes Baltimore.
