Monday Night Football: Bears vs Jets

Following one of the best wins in recent history, the Chicago Bears head to MetLife Stadium for a nonconference matchup against the New York Jets. Despite the identical 1-1 records, it's a tale of two sides as the Bears head into Week 3 after rallying from a 17-0 deficit to defeat the San Francisco 49ers 28-20, while the Jets blew a 21-3 lead against Green Bay to ultimately lose 31-24.

Can Chicago get back-to-back road victories? Or will the Jets ground game be too much to handle at home?

What to Watch For

Different Styles of Play: If there’s one matchup this week that features two contrasting styles of play, it’s this one. The Jets lead the NFL in rushing offense and rushing defense, categogies the Bears are No. 30 and No. 27 in, respectively. The Jets will have success on the ground, but just how much will be assisted by a balanced offense to start the game with. The Bears are No. 4 in the league with five takeaways (4 INTs, 1 fumble recovery). More importantly, however, is the fact that those 5 forced turnovers have resulted in 21 points.

Bears Prolific Offense: The Jets have already given up 5 touchdown pases in just two weeks. According to ESPN Stats, their best season under Rex Ryan came in 2009 when they only gave up 8 TD passes all season. The Jets have a crafty run defense, so expect the Bears to air it out with Jay Cutler and receiving corp.

Projected Leaders

Jay Cutler: 218 yds, 1 TD, 80.7 QB Rating
Gino Smith: 182 yds, 1 TD, 64.2 QB Rating

Matt Forte: 20 carries, 80 yards
Chris Johnson: 16 carries, 79 yds

Brandon Marshall: 6 receptions, 72 yds
Jeremy Kerley: 4 receptions, 50 yds
