New York Giants: Forecasted for 9-7 New York Giants: Forecasted for 9-7 New York Giants Season Preview New York finished 10-6, but still missed the playoffs in 2010 losing out to Philadelphia in part due to a very ill-advised punt in mid-December. Quarterback Eli Manning put up one of his best seasons throwing for over 4,000 yards and 31 touchdowns, but did also throw 25 interceptions. Projections have the team competitive in the East, but clearly behind the Eagles and neck and neck with the Cowboys to start the year. The Giants have a 21 percent chance of winning the division, and a 43 percent chance of making the playoffs. The defense ranked in the top 10 last year, and coach Tom Coughlin will probably lean on that strength again this season. A big issue will be cleaning up their turnover issues as 25 picks for Manning is too many as well as losing 6 of 7 fumbles from their top 2 backs. The Giants figured out their backfield situation by resigning Ahmad Bradshaw to a good deal relative to the free agent market. He should again team with Brandon Jacobs to form a formidable one-two punch that New York will rely on offensively. New York should be competitive for a playoff spot again in 2011. Maybe this year they’ll just remember to kick away from DeSean Jackson.
