Jacksonville Jaguars Season Preview
Last season, the Jaguars finished 8-8 and ended the season 2nd in the AFC South. The Jags were in position to win the AFC South after 13 weeks. At 8-5, Jacksonville traveled to Indianapolis to play the 7-6 Colts. Jacksonville went on to lose that game and the two remaining games to end .500, and the Colts rode a 4-game winning streak to finish the season in 1st place.

For the 2011 season, the Jaguars are projected to have a 9% chance of winning the division and a 12% probability of making the playoffs. This season’s projections hint at the massive opportunity the Jaguars missed at the end of last season. With Houston expected to rebound after an off season and the Colts expected to incur fewer injuries this season than last, making the playoffs or winning the division is a tough proposition for the 2011 Jaguars.
Veteran quarterback David Garrard is entering his 10th season with Jacksonville. Last season, Garrard had his highest completion percentage since becoming a full-time starter in 2005. Unfortunately, Garrard threw 15 interceptions, a number he needs to reduce this season. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for over 1,000 yards for the second season in a row, and the Jags will need more of the same from the 2006 draft pick out of UCLA.
