Detroit Lions Season Preview
The Lions have built a young talented team that might really start to make some noise as soon as this season. They finished the 2010 season on a 4-game win streak including a win over the champion Packers. Overall, Detroit won six games last year, and that was with three different quarterbacks at the helm. This year could be even better if Matthew Stafford can stay healthy and live up to his potential.

AccuScore projects a nearly .500 record as Detroit is averaging 7.5 wins per simulation. That would be a major coup as the team hasn’t won 8 games since going 9-7 way back in 2000. Detroit is also forecasted to have a 5 percent chance at winning the NFC North, and a 11 percent chance at making the playoffs. There is real hope for this team, but this season is probably not likely to result in a division title or a playoff appearance.

Detroit has a very nice core of offensive players led by Stafford, Jahvid Best, Calvin Johnson, and Brandon Pettigrew. Add defensive tackle Nick Fairley, the beast from Auburn that fell to the 13th overall pick, next to the already dominant Ndamukong Suh and you now have a talented defense as well. There should be some excitement in the Motor City this season, and the youth on this team should keep it that way for years to come.
