Rajon Rondo Injury Impact
The Boston Celtics found out Sunday they would be without All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. While Boston managed to beat the Miami Heat without him on Sunday, his loss will obviously be very debilitating for their chase for the playoffs.
Boston currently sits in 8th place in the East, but without Rondo AccuScore projects the team to be 3.8 wins worse over the remaining 39 games. AccuScore projects the Celtics to finish with just under 38 wins and a 42.4 percent chance at the playoffs. That ranks 9th in the East, falling behind the 76ers for the final forecasted playoff spot.
Now Danny Ainge must decide whether or not to find help via trade or free agency, or choose to blow up the roster and try and trade some veterans.
