Day 17 of the delayed/cancelled NBA simulation season as it was originally scheduled:
Thursday’s small schedule featured four of the biggest teams in the league with Boston playing Orlando and New York facing Los Angeles.
Boston Celtics 90, Orlando Magic 97
The Celtics lost their first game of the year last night, and now have lost two in a row. They shot just 43.8 percent from the field while Orlando shot 51.5 percent. The Magic clearly had fresher legs as Boston was coming off a game against Miami last night. Gilbert Arenas actually earned some of that giant contract with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.
New York Knicks 103, Los Angeles Lakers 113
The Lakers are the last remaining unbeaten team in the NBA winning 10 in a row. The Knicks scored 32 fewer points than they did last night against Golden State with the difference being, as it often is, L.A.’s frontcourt. Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol combined for 32 points and 26 rebounds. Lamar Odom added 19 points and 8 rebounds. Amare Stoudemire scored 20, but struggled against the Lakers size shooting 8 for 23 from the field.
