Day 10 of the delayed/cancelled NBA simulation season as it was originally scheduled:
A light NBA schedule featured two traditional Western conference powers, and two struggling elite teams.
Chicago Bulls 101, Oklahoma City Thunder 93
Chicago got a much needed win to even its record at 2-2. The Thunder have already played six times in the first 10 days of the year winning just twice. Normally Derrick Rose is the star for the Bulls, but it was the frontcourt that led the way. Luol Deng was the high scorer with 21 points while Carlos Boozer broke out with 16 points and 21 rebounds. The forwards also combined for six assists. Both Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant had 21 points, and both shot a very poor 9-25 from the field. There would be no blame for Westbrook not sharing the ball in this game however as he dished out 13 assists. Kendrick Perkins was not much of a factor with 7 points and 3 rebounds. James Harden also did not have a good game for Oklahoma City with just 6 points and 6 turnovers.
Portland Trail Blazers 97, San Antonio Spurs 102
A night after getting blown out by the Lakers, the Spurs bounced back for a nice win in Portland. Tim Duncan led San Antonio in scoring, but grabbed just 4 rebounds. DeJuan Blair led the team in rebounding with 6 to go along with 11 points. Manu Ginobili was the real star with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Portland actually outrebounded the Spurs by 11, but shot just 37 percent from the field.
