Wigan Athletic v Newcastle United: Newcastle United to win at 2.590

Value play: 52.5% according to AccuScore; 37.9% according to the bookies. Newcaslte is the better side and they’ve been playing marvelously well. AccuScore is projecting a 2-1 win for Newcastle, and at better than even odds, this is a good play. AccuScore is 13-10 when there is value on Newcastle winning this season, so this is a good trends play.

Liverpool v Norwich City: Split Bet - Norwich City to win at 4.070 AND draw at 3.670

Liverpool lost to West Brom last weekend. They’re not playing well, and going to Norwich City is not a walk in the park. The computer projects value on both the Norwich draw and the Norwich win. So split your bet and you’ll make better than even money with either outcome.

Manchester City v Manchester United: Manchester City to win at 2.150

Manchester City won the Manchester Derby played at Old Trafford earlier this season. With Manchester City recording 16 wins in 17 matches at the Etihad this season, yeah, this is a good value play. City have also been playing well recently, while United have been slipping—and no, I’m not referring to Ashley Young’s recent diving habit. Right. The computer is 14-7 when projecting value on City to win. The oddsmakers have City winning at 45.6% and AccuScore thinks it should be 55.2%. There is value here.

Premiership Weekend Preview: Round 36

This weekend, Manchester United travel to Manchester City in a massive Manchester derby. If City can claim the full 3 points, the Premier League will be level on points after 36 rounds. With City having the superior goal differential by a considerable margin, United would fall into second place.

Wolves are going down considering they have a 8 points below 19th place. Wigan, QPR, Bolton, Blackburn, and Aston Villa are all within 5 points of the other two spots. As Wigan, QPR, and Blackburn do battle to avoid relegation, they must earn points against Champions League contenders Newcastle, Chelsea, and Tottenham, respectively. Points will be hard to come by at the bottom. Meanwhile, West Borm host Aston Villa. Villa are winless in their last 7 and have shown little during the slide.

In the fight for the Champions League, Arsenal travel to Stoke City, a difficult place to get goals. With Arsenal stumbling to a 0-0 draw against Chelsea last weekend, goals won’t be any easier to come by this week. Arsenal are currently in the 3rd spot, but Newcastle United are only 3 points back in 4th place. Spurs are 3 points back of the Toon, while Chelsea are 1 point back of Spurs. At this point, both the relegation race and the Champions League place are up for grabs. It should be a special weekend in the Premiership.
