Accuscore’s advanced sports simulation engine played out each game of the 2014-15 Premier League season 10,000 times to calculate and predict the final 2015-16 Premier League table. Of course, changes in the squads are not included, as the transfer window does not shut until after the season starts and re-opens in January. Based on current lineups, though, it appears that the 2015-16 Premier League season will be a battle between Arsenal and Manchester City that is ultimately decided when the pair plays head-to-head in a late season fixture at the Etihad. A projected draw gives Arsenal the league, but if City manages to beat the Gunners, that would give the Sky Blues a clear path to a third league title in five years.

Aston Villa, Watford and AFC Bournemouth are all projected for the drop, meaning Norwich City would be the only survivor of the newcomers. Hoping to build off a fantastic finish, Leicester City is projected to crack the top 10 and remain in England’s top flight for at least another year. Another surprise is that Southampton is projected to finish above both Manchester United and Liverpool despite the two Northwest rivals spending big to attract foreign talent. Just like most of the Premier League a season ago, Louis van Gaal has yet to convince AccuScore’s computer.
