The Russian based Kontinental Hockey League has reached the playoff-stage already. Eight teams from both conferences fight for their right hoist the coveted Gagarin Cup. The regular season saw no big surprises, as the big favorites kept their posts in top eight.

Accuscore’s playoff simulations have determined the first round already and it looks mostly crystal clear: the favorites are still too strong for the challengers, especially in the western conference. East is more evenly matched, but it’s unlikely to see any upsets there either.
