The Washington Capitals are in trouble, although you wouldn’t know given Alex Ovechkin’s cool demeanor after the 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The loss keeps Washington winless under new coach Dale Hunter, and extends its losing streak to four. The contest was a defensive struggle, tied at 1-1 until Chris Kunitz notched the winner late in the third period. The most worrisome part of the loss for the Capitals was that they buckled late, wasting a solid performance from Tomas Vokoun.

While the Capitals have lost four straight, the Rangers have won their last four, with a big second period rally to beat the Hurricanes 5-3. New York scored three goals in the second, the last of which being the game winning goal scored by Sean Avery.
