Minnesota Vikings +12 at Seattle Seahawks
Over the last three games, Seattle has allowed well over 5 yards per carry going up against the Rams, Bucs, and Falcons. Mike James and Zac Stacy racked up well over 100 yards each against the Hawks, and neither is close to the player that Adrian Peterson is. Seattle clearly is the favorite, especially at home, but Peterson has the ability to move the football and keep the game within single digits.
New Orleans Saints -3.5 vs. San Francisco 49ers
The Niners might be 6-3, but those wins have come against teams with a combined 21-36 record. The three losses have come against teams who are a combined 22-7. That’s a roundabout way to say that San Francisco has beaten bad to mediocre teams and lost to good ones. The Saints at 7-2 are firmly in the “good” camp. They are also second in the NFL averaging 29.4 points per game. San Francisco has scored in single digits in each of its three losses, and is coming off an epically futile offensive performance. To beat New Orleans at New Orleans requires scoring plenty of points. The Niners don’t appear capable of doing that at this point in the season without Michael Crabtree and a banged up Vernon Davis.
