Winning at any salary cap game comes down to finding values and correctly constructing a roster to maximize points. That makes smart money management key just like in real life sports. For the final weekend of NFL play, here are some good value picks to make for Fan Duel.

Running Backs

Jamaal Charles, Kansas City (@ DEN) - $7,600
This is the category most likely to produce a completely unexpected monster performance due to the nature of Week 17 playing time. Because of that, I would recommend choosing at least one proven performer for a team that has not been chasing the playoffs for the past few weeks, which is why I am recommending Charles. He has performed exceeding well down the stretch with at least 100 yards rushing in four of his last five games.

Ryan Grant, Green Bay (@ MIN) - $5,600
If you want a cheap option for your second running back, you might want to look at Grant. He got 21 touches last week against Tennessee and put up 114 total yards and 2 touchdowns. The Packers are desperate for any kind of running game, and still need to win for playoff positioning. On the road against a desperate Minnesota team, Grant is likely to get about 15 carries whether the Packers are up or down on the scoreboard.

Tight End

Jimmy Graham, New Orleans (vs. CAR) - $6,400
If you are going to splurge on one tight end, go with Graham. He has averaged the second most points at the position this season (12.3) and is projected to have 1.1 more points than any other player this week. He is $900 cheaper than Rob Gronkowski this week, and is more likely to put up big numbers. New England will still be playing to win, but wants to make sure Gronkowski is healthy for the playoffs and likely won’t force feed him the ball likely they might in a true must-win.

Defense

San Francisco (vs. Arizona) - $5,300
The Niners are the clear-cut choice for best fantasy defense in Week 17 according to AccuScore with nearly 27 projected points. Denver is second at 21.5 with Seattle a distant third with 17.8. The price for San Francisco however is just 15th overall and makes it easily the best value pick of any pick in the NFL game. They do still need to win this game to secure the NFC West. Arizona will be starting Brian Hoyer at quarterback, the fourth player to start at the position this season.

Kickers

Garrett Hartley, New Orleans (vs. CAR) - $5,200
Hartley has averaged just 7.3 points per game this year, but this week he is projected as the top kicker with 9.8 points against the Panthers. The Saints are at home so kicking conditions will be perfect, and the Panthers, despite a recent surge, are still a poor defensive team. With both teams playing well offensively, there should be enough points for Hartley to easily justify this price. Eighteen kickers are priced more expensively than Hartley this week.

Olindo Mare, Chicago (@ DET) - $4,900
Mare is the cheapest kicker available. If there is one position where you can save valuable $ it is with the volatility of kickers. Chicago is in a must-win game, and will be in a dome with the accompanying perfect kicking conditions. Mare is actually projected for 9 points by the computer, ninth best of any kicker.
