1. Calvin Johnson (DET): The leader of the Decepticons remains at the top of the projected fantasy wide receivers list. Monday was a sad day for fantasy owners as his two touchdowns per game streak was snapped, and he finished with 130 yards receiving and only one touchdown. This Sunday the Lions play at home against a surprising 4-1 Niners team. The good news for Johnson is that San Francisco has a below average passing defense, which means it could be another big day for Megatron and Starscream (Matt Stafford). Projected fantasy points: 14.8.

2. Wes Welker (NE): The Slot Machine is number two on the list. Brady’s favorite target also had a slow day in week 5 when he was held to just 124 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Welker also lost a fumble, which hurt his fantasy total. However, it’s going to take more than one week to keep Wes down, and the Patriots offense should have little difficulty moving the ball against the Cowboys. Projected fantasy points: 14.1.

3. Mike Wallace (PIT): One Trick has become much more than just a deep ball receiver this season. Wallace is Big Ben’s favorite target and is consistently putting up good to great fantasy numbers each week. The Steelers face a struggling Jaguars team in week six. The Jags gave up 30 points last week to the Bengals, so expect Wallace and the Steelers to be successful. Projected fantasy points: 12.7.

4. Greg Jennings (GB): The man who puts the team on his back has scored a touchdown in every game but one this season. With Aaron Rodgers behind center, Jennings is a solid fantasy start every week, and this week is no different. The Rams defense won’t be enough to slow down the Packers. Projected fantasy points: 12.5.

5. Miles Austin (DAL): The Monmouth Monster is back after missing three weeks with a hamstring injury. For those that are hesitant to put him in the starting lineup remember that in weeks one and two he caught 14 passes for 233 yards and four touchdowns. He has had plenty of time to rest and should be ready to take on the awful passing defense of the New England Patriots. Projected fantasy points: 11.1.

Not top 5, but could be: This week’s player that missed the cut but should be on everyone’s radar is New York’s Hakeem Nicks. Nicks has 412 yards receiving and three touchdowns on the season, and is Eli Manning’s favorite target. This week the Giants play a hot Buffalo Bills team. The Bills have forced a lot of turnovers this year, but also give up a lot of points and are a below average defensive team. Projected fantasy points: 10.9.
