1. Mason Crosby (GB): The Packers kicker takes the top spot this week. Mason Crosby is piling up fantasy points as the Green Bay offense continues to dominate. Crosby hasn’t missed a field goal, and last game scored seven points on extra points alone. Projected fantasy points: 10.0.
2. Stephen Gostkowski (NE): Like Crosby, Gostkowski gets plenty of extra point opportunities with the Patriots offense scoring seemingly at will. The Pats are playing a tough Jets defense on Sunday, but I don’t expect them to slow down Tom Brady, and even if they do Gostkowski will get the field goal attempts. Projected fantasy points: 9.9.
3. Shaun Suisham (PIT): Suisham has not been as accurate this year as fantasy owners would like. He’s only five for eight on field goals. It’s unlikely that he will continue to miss fire at this rate. The Steelers play the Titans on Sunday, and with their offense struggling they might have to rely on Suisham to put points on the board. Projected fantasy points: 9.4.
4. Nick Novak (SD): Novak takes the fourth spot coming off a buy last week, and his highest scoring performance the week before when he sent four field goal kicks and two extra points through the uprights. The Chargers play the Broncos in an AFC West battle this weekend, and Novak is forecasted to sink just under two field goals and three extra points. Projected fantasy points: 9.4.
5. John Kasay (NO): Kasay missed his first two field goals of the year last week in the win over Jacksonville. Even with that setback, he still made three field goals and two extra points. The Saints play the Panthers this weekend, and I expect them to put up plenty of points, which is money for Kasay. Projected fantasy points: 9.4.
Not top 5, but could be: This week’s kicker that didn’t make the cut but is in position to have a big game is Houston’s Neil Rackers. The Texans play the Raiders on Sunday in a game that should feature plenty of scoring, as both teams have good offenses with solid running games. Expect Rackers to get plenty of opportunities to score points. Projected fantasy points: 8.7.
