Winning at any salary cap game comes down to finding values and correctly constructing a roster to maximize points. That makes smart money management key. For NFL Divsional Playoffs, here are some good value picks to make for Fan Duel.

Quarterback

Don’t skimp this week and just take either Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. Both players are projected for at least 285 passing yards and 2.2 touchdowns. Both are sizable favorites, and appear to have favorable match-ups to put up plenty of points. Manning is the better value this week being $800 cheaper, but I wouldn’t go with any other candidate at QB.

Running Back

Stevan Ridley, Patriots - $6,900
Ridley scored touchdowns in each game from Week 8 to Week 14 with the common factor being that most of those games were blowouts. Then he scored twice in Week 17 which was also a blowout. There is serious blowout potential here with the Patriots being nearly double digit favorites by projections and the oddsmakers. Houston does not appear to be playing well, or be a good match-up for New England. These two teams played Week 14 with the Patriots winning by 28 points at home. All bad news for the Texans. Ridley is likely to get the ball often in the second half if his team is leading, and is a great candidate to score at least once. And an added bonus is the fact that he is relatively cheap allowing you to fill the other RB slot with one of the superstar players.

Tight End

Dennis Pitt, Ravens, - $5,400
This pick allows you to save money, but also gets you a player that scored twice the last time Baltimore played Denver. Pitta also scored a touchdown last week against Indianapolis, and the Broncos have been relatively weak against tight ends. With the type of pass rush and corners Joe Flacco will be facing, expect him to try and find his tight end safety valve more often than normal.

Kicker

Stephen Gostkowski, Patriots - $5,100
The Pats are easily projected for the most points of the weekend with about 30. The other seven teams are projected between 21 and 26 points. Kicker points are very difficult to predict so I like to go with the one with the best offense, and this one also happens to be the cheapest on the board.

Defense

Denver Broncos - $5,600
My defensive pick of the weekend is the Broncos. They appear to be the most complete defense remaining with the fewest match-up disadvantages. Seattle lost Chris Claiborne, and will be on the road. New England would be my second choice, but is susceptible to deep passing which Matt Schaub does not seem inclined to do, or even capable of with his current receiving corps. But I like the Broncos going up against the Ravens. Denver is at home, and is projected to allow the fewest points (20) in any game this weekend. The Broncos also project to force 1.4 turnovers, and notch the most sacks of any team with 3.6.
