Miami Dolphins Season Preview
Last season, the Miami Dolphins finished 7-9 in a disappointing season. The Dolphins accumulated an impressive 6-2 road record, including wins at Minnesota, at Green Bay, at Oakland, and at the Jets. Unfortunately, the Dolphins had a horrendous 1-7 record at home, and they finished 3rd in the AFC East, missing out on the post-season.

This season Chad Henne and Brandon Marshall enter their 2nd season together hoping to improve a Miami offense which only produced 17 passing touchdowns (27th overall) last season. For the 2011-12 season, the Dolphins are projected to have a 6% chance of winning the AFC East and a 22% chance of making the playoffs.

With Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams gone, Kansas State rookie running back Daniel Thomas will need to have an immediate impact as will free agent pick-up Reggie Bush. Tight end Anthony Fasano, wide-out Brian Hartline, and fullback Lousaka Polite continue to be offensive staples, but the Dolphins defense needs to improve.

The Dolphins ranked 28th in interceptions last season and 24th in fumbles recovered. Miami only managed one defensive touchdown during the entire 2010 season. However, the Dolphins defense was in the top 10 in passing yards allowed/game, rushing yards allowed/game, and overall yards allowed/game. With Will Allen returning from injury and Vonte Davis and Sean Smith entering their 3rd seasons in the NFL, Miami will hope for more picks and better cover in the secondary.
