Arizona Cardinals Season Preview

The big question for Arizona in the offseason was the quarterback situation. The Cardinals fixed that by acquiring Kevin Kolb rather than turning again to Derek Anderson, John Skelton, or Max Hall.  While Kolb represents a big improvement over those castoffs, he has never been a successful full-time starter in the NFL.

For now, projections have Arizona forecasted for second in the NFC West with 6.7 wins and 9.3 losses. Arizona is predicted to win the division 20 percent of the time and make the playoffs 22 percent of the time.  The NFC West though remains wide open with only San Francisco projected for as many as eight wins.

This team has plenty of potential with an established star at receiver in Larry Fitzgerald, and possible superstar Patrick Peterson drafted 5th overall. Running back Ryan Williams was taken in the second round to help fortify the shaky backfield situation. In a wide open division race, what happens at quarterback for Arizona will be key.

Projected Record: 6 – 10
Projected Division Finish: 3rd
Probability of Winning Division: 20%
Probability of Making Playoffs: 22%
