JON’S EXPERT PICKS

Kansas State (+8) at Texas
This game opened at 9 and was posted some places as high as 9.5. Everybody seems to be completely confused by this line, and have I yet to find a reason to believe that the bookmakers know something that everybody else doesn’t.  Texas simply has problems scoring right now because of quarterback issues. The two games prior to the loss to Mizzou are mirages because of the opposition. Everything for the Longhorns is based around running the ball, and the backfield is extremely thin right now with Fozzy Whittaker out and both Joe Bergeron and Malcolm Brown gimpy.  Since Week 1 Kansas State has averaged 37.8 points per game, and was only slowed by Oklahoma.
