While the confusion and frustration of the College Football Playoff system haunted fans of the Big 12 in 2014, the future expects to be much brighter in 2015. Currently ranked No. 4 among FBS conferences, the Big 12 features a group of teams - with TCU and Baylor leading the way - that are eyeing redemption in the upcoming season.

The biggest factor expected to play a part in a turnaround season by the Big 12 is the conference's top two teams returning a plethora of talent. TCU returns an early Heisman Trophy front-runner in QB Trevone Boykin, one of 10 returning starters for the Horned Frogs. In 2014, the TCU offense averaged 530+ total yards per game and about 47 points per; experts know just how potent this offense can be in 2015.

Baylor - the only team to defeat TCU in the regular season in 2014 - returns both KD Cannon and Corey Coleman, both 1,000-yard receivers. They did lose QB Bryce Petty to the NFL, however, but goal remains the same: win 12 games and secure a spot in the final four.

While Texas Tech also returns a number of starters, the worst-ranked defense in the Big 12 in 2014 will need a world of improvement if they hope to compete in the conference. While the Red Raiders' offense is certainly impressive, a total team effort will be needed on a weekly basis if they want to make some noise on a national level.
