2016 MLB Regular Season Recap

At the beginning of the season, Accuscore predicted regular season win totals of each and every MLB team. Moreover, we selected top three season totals bets out of these predictions. It is time to recap the selections.

Also, Accuscore singled three value bets for their season totals:

Chicago Cubs: Over
Cleveland Indians: Over
Cincinnati Reds: Under

Not surprisingly all of these three picks were correct. The Cubs beat Vegas line by whopping 14 wins and the Indians were not too much behind with 10 wins over Vegas line. Cincinnati’s season was practically over after lousy May when they went from 9-9 (last week of April) to 17-35 by the of the May.

Overall, there were 23 teams which season win totals were somehow different between Vegas line and Accuscore season prediction. For those teams we suggested over and under bets. When the last regular season game was played yesterday and total wins counted, we can see that 13 out of 23 predictions were correct and 10 incorrect.

The biggest surprises against the predictions were poor performances of Minnesota, Arizona and Pittsburgh. Minnesota’s small signs of improvement from the last season were a distant memory and now they were back to the bottom of the division again. This year Pittsburgh was not able to challenge Cubs or Cardinals for the NL Central top spots and their postseason streak ended after three years.

Above prediction performers were division winners Texas Rangers and Boston Red Soxs. Texas maintained their good form from the last season and healthier lineup gave much more wins than Accuscore or Vegas predicted. Boston bounced back from the last place of the division that they have recorded during last two season to the top of the AL East. Also Philadelphia performed much better than predicted and their rebuilding process has given some light for their fans.

Season future bets provided positive returns yet again, but as your money is tied up for a long time, picking games is a faster way to turn a profit. However, winning long term is nothing to complain about, and MLB Futures turned meaningful profits.
