After a great wait, Brazil will final begin the FIFA World Cup with a stern test against Croatia on June 12, 2014. From there, the 2014 World Cup does not slow down one bit.
The second day of the tournament features Spain playing against the Netherland in a rematch of the 2010 World Cup final. That match should provide a good litmus test for both sides. For the Netherlands, anything other than a loss against the defending champion would be positive. For Spain, a win would go a long way to finishing top of a tough group and setting the track for a repeat victory.
Day three of the tournament continues to pack the punches with England taking on Italy in a matchup of traditional European powerhouses attempting to return to glory.
On day four, one of the favorites, Argentina, takes on one of the tournament’s dark horses, Boznia-Herzegovina. Manchester City teammates Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko will line up against each other for a heated group opener.
On the fifth day of the tournament, Germany faces Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal, as the two favorites in the “group of death” look to differentiate which team expects to finish top of the group and which team expects to finish second.
On the sixth day, Brazil is back in action against Mexico, and the group stages go for their second go around. To say that the World Cup will be terrific is an understatement.
