This Week’s Picks

Friday

1. Free Twitter Pick: Over 3.5 goals for Bayern Munich v FC Cologne
Hot Trends: AccuScore was 4-0 when picking totals with FC Cologne away from their home ground, 4-1 on totals involving Bayern Munich at the Allianz, and a combined 11-5 picking the Over with these teams.

Unfortunately, Franck Ribery decided to get 2 yellows for non-football related actions. He was sent off with the score 0-0. Bayern still managed to score 3 times in the 2nd half with only 10 men, so it makes you think of what the score could have been if Ribery had stayed on the pitch. He was also Bayern’s best player in the match to that point. I start the weekend down 0-1, but I don’t feel bad about that pick.

Saturday:

2. Schalke 04 (2.07) to win against Werder Bremen

Hot Trends: AccuScore is 4-2 when picking value in Schalke winning, and 68.4% of simulations resulted in a Schlake victory compared to only 47.4% probability from the oddsmakers. Also, AccuScore is 6-2 with nearly 500% profit on side value for Werder Bremen away from home. Schlake are a strong side at home and this is a tough match, but it should be a cracker and the home side is certainly a good bet at 2.07.

3. Over 3 goals: Schalke v Werder Bremen
Hot Trends: This is a complete trends play. 59% of AccuScore’s simulations resulted in these teams combing for over 3 goals. With Huntelaar, Raul, and Pizarro involved, it’s not hard to see some goals flying in. Add with that that AccuScore is 8-1 this season when over 50% of simulations involving Schlake end in the Over and this becomes a hard play to pass up. What’s more is that Werder Bremen are 3-0 this season when AccuScore projects value on picking the over, so these teams are combined for a 11-1 record when AccuScore projects value.

Sunday

4. Borussia Monchengladbach (1.935) v Mainz
AccuScore’s trends for Monchengladbach are all positive with regard to returns. AccuScore’s simulations give ‘Gladbach a 60.5% chance of winning while oddsmakers have them at 50.7%. This value is enough to convince me, but when you consider that Mainz played an extra Bundesliga match on Wednesday and Marco Reus is expected to return for ‘Gladbach, this is a must-play.

5. Under 2.5 goals: Hannover 96 v Kaiserslautern
AccuScore is 11-1 when finding value on picking the under with Kaiserslautern. That trend was enough to convince me that this should be an analyst pick this week seeing as 67% of simulations ended with these 2 teams combining for under 2.5 goals.

Make sure to tune in to watch Santos v Barcelona in the Club World Cup final. Neymar and Messi will finally face off and it should be worth the watch. Read an exclusive preview: Messi v Neymar: The Final!

Also, make sure to catch Arsenal v Manchester City, Lazio v Udinese, Napoli v Roma, and Real Madrid v Sevilla. It's an exciting weekend in football (soccer).
