Director's Premier League Picks – Round 3

This week in European football features some interesting fixtures. In Italy, Roma travels to the San Siro to face off against an exciting Inter Milan. In Spain, Barcelona returns home after the Super Copa defeat to find Valencia waiting to pull an upset. In England, Arsenal travels to Anfield to face off against Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool, who nearly took a full 3 points from Manchester City last weekend.

This week, I have 2 new Premiership picks for Round 3. The first one is visible to everyone, but the second one is for AccuScore members. Sign In now to see both picks.

1. Liverpool versus Arsenal: Over 2.5 Goals
Liverpool played especially well last week going forward. The Reds looked the better side by taking the game to City rather than sitting back and defending. This mindset seems to be Brendan Rodgers’ football philosophy, and last weekend, the match ended 2-2. This week, Arsenal comes to town on the back of two scoreless draws. In short, the Gunners are due, and Liverpool is likely to give away a goal trying to pass out the back. If not, Santi Cazorla’s brilliant passing should yield an Arsenal goal soon enough. The computer says this match hits the over 63.5% of the time, and I tend to agree.
