picture. It’s Week 12. Fantasy Football teams are chugging along. Four important teams are on bye. Bo Scarbrough and Jonathan Williams are winning people Fantasy leagues. Wait, what? That’s right. Never say never! Those two were among the most popular waiver wire adds this week and, to be honest, it makes sense. While we’re talking about strange things, the Cleveland Browns finally have a great matchup. They’ve been dealt a brutal schedule but things are ready to turn it around. In fact, the Browns are making the playoffs! You heard it here first. And it all starts in Week 12…

Everybody has jumped off the Browns bandwagon. Well, I’m starting it back up. That’s exactly why I have Baker Mayfield as my QB7 this week. Before you ask, yes, I’m sober. After failing to throw multiple touchdowns in a game for the first nine weeks of the season, Baker has five total touchdowns over his last two games. He’s starting to turn things around and gets the gift of the Miami Dolphins in Week 12. Josh Allen just threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another against this Dolphins defense, finishing as the QB1 overall in Week 11. Also consider that the Dolphins are 31st in QB pressures, which means Baker will have time to hook up with Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry down the field. Trust Baker in this spot.

Let’s double down why don’t we? Obviously you’re starting Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Odell Beckham, and Jarvis Landry. Well, let’s fire up Kareem Hunt as well. In Hunt’s first two games with the team, he’s played on 55-percent of the snaps with 10 carries and 17 targets. That’s a 24-percent target share! It’s a small sample size but that currently ranks first among all running backs. The Dolphins allow 4.66 yards per carry to running backs and the sixth most Fantasy points to the position. If the Browns are playing with a big lead, we could see even more carries for Hunt here. He’s a borderline RB2. Once you get into that low-end RB2/high-end flex range of running backs, things get very hairy. I’m going to trust talent and matchups when I get to that point, which means I’m on Derrius Guice this week. Guice shared work with Adrian Peterson and Wendell Smallwood in Week 11, but did have 69 total yards and a receiving touchdown. Guice is facing the Detroit Lions in Week 12 and, no matter how you want to look at it, their defense is bad. They’re one of three teams in the NFL to allow an average of over 400 total yards yards per game. The Lions have also allowed 17 total touchdowns to running backs and the second most Fantasy points to the position. Like Hunt, Guice is a borderline RB2/flex option.

Sterling Shepard might be on his way back and Darius Slayton was a popular waiver wire add last week but let’s not forget about the ol’ reliable Golden Tate. Since returning to the Giants in Week 5, Tate leads the team with a 22-percent target share. His 94.3 PPR points from Weeks 5-10 (Giants had a bye in Week 11) rank him as the WR9 overall during that span. He’s been incredible consistent. Also keep in mind that the Bears have a good pass rush, which should lead to Daniel Jones getting rid of the ball quickly in this matchup. Tate is once again a Top-24 wide receiver in Week 12. Let’s jump over to the complete opposite of Golden Tate and that’s Marvin Jones. Tate represents consistency while Jones has been very volatile in his career. The floor is very low at times but the ceiling is massive due to Jones’ deep-ball ability and touchdown upside. This week Jones faces a Washington secondary that just got shredded by… Sam Darnold? Jones’ upside is not as high with Jeff Driskel as his quarterback but he’s performed well over the past two games. Jones finished with 5-77-0 against the Bears in Week 10 and 4-43-2 against the Cowboys in Week 11. Considering Driskel has looked Jones’ way often and they have a plus matchup against Washington, I like Jones as a high-end WR3 in Week 12.
