No major running back injuries sustained this week. HUZZAH!!!!!!!

Todd Gurley finally didn’t suck. NOW TRADE HIM!!!! Don’t get become enamored with your own players. You wanted to sell him yesterday, and now that he scored two TDs, he actually has value again… despite averaging 3.1 ypc. I’d try to get DeMarco Murray and a usable add-on for him. Aim high.

The Bears starting RB job is going to Jordan Howard’s very soon. Even on braille, he looks better than Jeremy Langford. Now that Langford was carted off with an ankle injury, the job seems primed for Howard to take and run… literally.

Le’Veon Bell and Jamaal Charles are both expected back next week. If you own DeAngelo Williams or Spencer Ware, please, do not drop them. Merely stash them on your bench. You’ve seen the upside that they can produce. Frankly, whether you own the lead back they’re attached to, with both coming off substandard weeks, now may be a perfect time to acquire their services for very little.

Arian Foster (Hamstring) is still iffy for Week 4 with the Dolphins playing Thursday night. Although Jay Ajayi closed the game with a touchdown, Kenyan Drake played the plurality of the snaps. Drake and Damien Williams were the only Miami running backs to be used the passing game. However, when Foster is healthy, he’ll dominate the playing time. Dolphins Week 4 RB Snap Count: Drake 27, Ajayi 18, Isaiah Pead 13, Williams 10

Doug Martin (Hamstring) is expected to miss another game (or two), leaving Charles Sims as a Top 15 PPR RB in that period. The rumors of Jacquizz Rodgers eating into Sims’ workload were just that (Snap Count: Sims 68; Rodgers 21). At one point, Sims received three consecutive carries on the goal line, culminating with his first rushing TD of the season. Don’t worry about him.

Like Martin, Jonathan Stewart (Hamstring) could be out at least another couple weeks. Cameron Artis-Payne worked as the “starter” against the Vikings but got out snapped by Fozzy Whittaker 34/31 (Mike Tolbert played 17 snaps). Now, a lot of that had to do with the game script. The Panthers were playing catch-up most of these second half and Whittaker is the superior dancer pass-catcher. Next week against Atlanta, expect to see more CAP carrying the ball between the tackles. The problem with Artis-Payne as a Fantasy player, his upside is capped with Cam Newton’s (aka Hipster Fresh Prince) propensity to run it in himself, leaving CAP as a rushing yards-only running back, and barely playable as a FLEX in standard and almost unstartable in PPR in leagues. In fact, in PPR leagues, Fozzy may be the better option.

Ameer Abdullah is believed to be finished for the season; this leaves Theo Riddick and Dwayne “The Rock” Washington to duke it out for touches in Detroit. In a game where the Lions were trailing by about double-digits almost the entire time, it was unsurprising to see Riddick play 45 snaps to Washington’s 25. While they split carries 10/1, expect that number to lean towards Washington in games where Detroit is leading or within a score. Riddick will persist as an every week PPR starter, but Washington, Washington may likely end up the better standard league player.

With the Giants getting an extra day of rest playing next Monday night, Rashad Jennings (Hand) will likely be back in action. Based on Shane Vereen’s performance over the first few games with Jennings, Eli Manning’s desire to constantly pass the ball, and his role with Jennings sidelined (Giants Snap Count: Vereen 35, Orleans Darkwa 21, Bobby Rainey 8), he’s probably the Giants RB you want to own in every format moving forward.

Adrian Peterson (Knee) is finished for a few months, probably the season, yet we still weren’t sure whether it was going to be Jerick McKinnon or Matt Asiata emerging as the more valuable Fantasy asset. Mike Zimmer? He went to Jerick. McKinnon played 36 snaps to Asiata’s 19, touching the ball almost three-times as much.

Eagles Week 4 RB Snap count, so you Ryan Mathews’ owners have numbers to justify pulling your hair out: Wendell Smallwood 24, Darren Sproles 24, Kenjon Barner 11, and Mathews 9. Not good.

Dexter McCluster only played nine snaps (Melvin Gordon – 51), but saw three targets, including some near the goal line. I assume his work was limited because he was busy educating the youth of America on the dangers of LOLing and driving. Look for his role to expand in the coming weeks. Grab him in deeper PPR leagues.

DeAndre Washington looked FAST all game against the Titans. So fast, he could he run through a car wash without getting wet.

As a down-the-road stash, grab Kenneth Dixon (Knee) if you have the bench room. Baltimore is good, and just dying for a competent RB. No guarantees he ends up with the full-time gig, but he’ll get his shot at the job when he returns. Probably Week 5 or 6.

  1. Theo Riddick 9
  2. Charles Sims 8
  3. DeAngelo Williams 7

Week 4 Waiver Wire: Wide Receivers

  2. Jamison Crowder
  3. Kevin White
  4. Cole Beasley
  5. Phillip Dorsett
  6. Quincy Enunwa
  7. Chris Hogan
  8. Steve Smith Sr.

  16. Michael Thomas
  17. Vincent Jackson
  18. Davante Adams

  44. Dontrelle Inman

Dez Bryant injured his knee Sunday night against the Bears, but returned to the game and found pay dirt anyway. He’s schedule for an MRI Monday; it appears it’s not super serious, though.

Eli Rogers (Toe) was forced out of the game with a toe injury. He didn’t return.

Terrelle Pryor played 82 snaps. Beyond his regular job at receiver, Pryor saw 14 snaps at quarterback and one at running back, good for 200 combined yards (144 receiving, 35 passing & 21 rushing) and a score. With Corey Coleman (Hand) out for 4-6 weeks, and Josh Gordon not slated to return until Week 5, Pryor could be an elite option Week 4, and a viable WR3 when Gordon returns.

I’m stashing Chris Hogan everywhere. Guy is going to eat when Tom Brady returns Week 5 at Cleveland. I’m buying as many shares of Josh Docston as I can, too. Sure, he missed Week 3 with his Achilles issue, but I’m looking for startable production mid-season and beyond from him.

I wouldn’t expect Jameis Winston to chuck it up 58 times every week, but Adam Humphries is going to get his either way. After seeing 12 targets this week, he now has 20 the past two games. He is more valuable than Vincent Jackson in any format. Just don’t expect too much this week against the Broncos.

Yes, Golden Tate’s output is terrifying. However he’s still been targeted 22 times in three games, and, with a historic catch rate as high as his, the production will eventually follow. Don’t lose faith… yet. Marvin Jones? He remains A BEAST!!!!!

  1. Antonio Brown 18
  2. Kevin White 14
  3. Terrelle Pryor 14

Week 4 Waiver Wire: Tight Ends

  12. Charles Clay
  13. Trey Burton
  14. Clive Walford

Jordan Cameron exited with a concussion, Dion Sims had four catches on four targets in his absence.

Jared Cook suffered an ankle injury, left the game on a cart, and was spotted in a walking boot, on crutches after the game. But, not before providing a vintage Cook drop. Guy keeps it on brand. Richard Rodgers picked up three targets and a red zone TD sans Cook.

Vance McDonald (Hip) left the field and was ruled out immediately. Garrett Celek would see an uptick in targets in his absence.

Should Delanie Walker (Hamstring) and Antonio Gates (Hammy) continue missing time, Hunter Henry and Jace Amaro are capable fillers in deeper leagues.

Zach Ertz (Ribs) could return next week. He’s not below the ownership threshold, but available in around 30% of leagues. Grab him if he’s there. Ertz’ presence doesn’t mean Trey Burton will be completely negated, but you should feel comfortable dropping him if Ertz is active.

I’M THE CAPTAIN NOW!!!! John Phillips nabbed a TD on four targets filling in for Virgil Green (Calf). Green should return next week and continue seeing his 4-7 targets a game.

  1. Greg Olsen 10
  2. Kyle Rudolph 10
  3. Ryan Griffin 10
  4. Cameron Brate 10
  5. Zach Miller 9

  1. Joe Flacco vs OAK
  2. Trevor Siemian at TB
  3. Brock Osweiler vs TEN
  4. Andy Dalton vs MIA
  5. Sam Bradford vs NYG
  6. Dak Prescott at SF

Russell Wilson was forced out of the game with a knee sprain and did not return. Wilson is expected to play Week 4.

Josh McCown is expected to miss at least another two weeks. Cody Kessler, with a dash of Terrelle Pryor, will be under center for the Browns.

Still no word yet on who will quarterback the Patriots this week against the Bills. And, since it’s New England, don’t expect to know any time soon.
