simply start prepping for your next summer seasonal format, here are some WRs that may be undervalued heading into the 2019 Fantasy Football offseason.
Anthony Miller: He only caught 33 balls for 423 yards in his rookie season, but don’t overlook the fact that Miller caught seven TD passes. There is more untapped big-play promise that you may see come to life in 2019 as the Bears passing game hopefully continues to evolve. Miller could be on the verge of a second-year breakout, and now may be the time to acquire him before the price rises. Savvy dynasty owners are not going to give him away cheaply, but he might demand much more of a return at this time next year.
John Ross: The Bengals are hoping Zac Taylor can spark their offense with much of the same offensive skill personnel in place, and here we have another seven-TD guy that has yet to truly deliver on his potential. Ross is still the third WR on the depth chart, but he should improve in what will be his true second season, and there is definitely some allure in Best Ball formats.
Dede Westbrook: He had three games of seven catches or more, and a 130-yard outing against the Jets in Week 4. Everyone knows a QB change is coming in Jacksonville, and if it is a respectable veteran or rookie who can make a quick impact, we could see more consistent production from Westbrook as soon as next season.
DeVante Parker: The Dolphins are expected to move on from the frustrating and enigmatic Parker, and a change of scenery to a team with a more potent QB situation could revive his sagging career. Parker is still only 26 years old and there will be a lot of willing NFL takers on him as a flier, and you may want to do the same in Fantasy depending on where he lands. It would not take much to acquire him right now in a dynasty league. He is a low risk that could turn out better months from now.
Sterling Shepard: He was certainly unreliable in 2018, and Eli Manning could open the season as the starter again in 2019. But by the second half of next season, New York’s QB of the future could be throwing the ball to Shepard, and by 2020 his outlook could be much more positive. He’s a longer-term investment that could start paying off as soon as the second half of next season.
Nelson Agholor: He took a tumble after showing some growth in 2017, but finished the regular season with three TDs in two games. Golden Tate is unlikely to return, and Agholor may remain in a prime role in the Philadelphia passing game next season. There were signs that he can still be a nifty playmaker for the Eagles, and it’s not quite time to give up on Agholor just yet.
David Moore: The Seahawks would be smart to land another dependable pass-catcher, but they like Moore a lot internally and still may be see him as one of their better downfield threats, He had three TD receptions in Weeks 5 and 6, a 97-yard outing with a TD in Week 8, and 103 yards and a TD in Week 12 before going quiet the rest of the season. There is definite deep Dynasty and Best Ball appeal here.
Donte Moncrief: Tate is the biggest name in free agency available, but Moncrief may be the best sneaky option to land outside of Jacksonville as a more consistent producer. He did catch 13 TD passes in 2015 and ’16. In the right offense, he could emerge as a big target who could regularly catch around five passes per game while being a frequent TD threat.
