College Football Previews 2018: Big 12 Predictions
Written by Rohit Ghosh
The Winner: All eyes will be on Oklahoma to finish atop the standings in the Big 12 this season after having lost just three regular-season conference games in the last three seasons. They have a few tough out-of-conference matchups, but there's little doubt on them to win the conference. The OVER on 10 wins, however, isn't as much of a guarantee; Oklahoma wins exactly that in the simulations, suggesting little-to-no confidence on the OVER or UNDER.
The OVER: Some analysts are looking at Oklahoma State as a sleeper team this year. Their win total is set at 8, and we're leaning on the OVER. Their matchup with Boise State is going to be a bit win, but we're expecting a win there to have them at 6-0 going into the Oct. 13 matchup vs Kansas State.

The UNDER: This might be one of the most supported picks ahead of the 2018-2019 season considering the Jayhawks have won just three games in the last three seasons. The UNDER on 3.5 wins seems like a lock when you add in the fact that just one of those three wins have been in conference play. Kansas averages just above 2 wins in AccuScore sims.
Stay Away: Projecting out Texas' season this year is a bit tricky. AccuScore sim data has them winning fewer than six games this year, but most other outlets have them around 8. Either way, they more than likely won't hit the OVER on 8.5 wins but considering the matchups with Maryland, Tulsa and USC, we're suggesting bettors stay away from this one. We are leaning on the UNDER, though, considering that Texas has just one season with 6-plus wins in conference play since 2011.
