NFL 2012 Futures For Every Team

At the start of the season, AccuScore simulates the full NFL season to arrive at projected win records, loss records,and playoff probabilities for each team. As the season progresses, AccuScore continues to update its futures projections on a weekly basis at the conclusion of Monday Night Football.

Along with playoff chances, AccuScore also calculates each team's chances of winning their respective division. The New England Patriots and the Houston Texans started off as the hot team in the AFC, so either team not making the playoffs would amount to a massive collapse. Both teams were over 90% to make the playoffs with the Texans over 97% after 5 games. In the NFC, The Atlanta Falcons were the most impressive team at the start of the season and not making the playoffs and winning the NFC South appeared to be a near impossibility at the outset of the season. The Falcons were nearly 95% to make the playoffs after 5 games. With each win and week, AccuScore updates each team's playoff odds and projected season records by running 10,000 simulations per game for every game in the rest of the season.
