weekly upset specialPosted by DAMAN in Untagged |
What can I say, not a lot to choose from this week as far as underdogs who will win their games outright, but here goes anyway. I want you to take the 49ers over the Falcons outright. Despite having the league's worst offense, the 49ers are just two games out in the weak NFC West and with Seattle and Arizona both on the road this week, a win could move them closer to the top. Don't forget that Alex Smith is back and should be even healthier this week than last which should provide enough of a threat to open things up a bit for Frank Gore. On the other side, Atlantais forced to go back to the ineffective Joey Harrington due to injury and they will be facing a defense that is 22nd in the league but boasts rookie sensation Patrick Willis who will make it hard on the Falcon running game, forcing Harrington to shoulder the load which, just ask the Lions and Dolphins, is not usually a good thing. All of these things combined with Atlanta being 1-7 despite being 7th in turnover margin at +5, meaning they find a way to lose, lead me to the conclusion that the 49ers will roll out of Atlanta at 3-5.
Last week's result: the pick, Cincinnati over Pittsburgh, the result, Pittsburgh 24-Cincinnati 13
For the year: 2-3
