Wide Receiver Sleepers?????Posted by lookingforupsets in Untagged |
Don't ask me how I did it, but I managed to draft LT and Peyton Manning. I couldn't get any top receivers so I went with the ever so popular "sleepers", Vincent Jackson, DJ Hackett and Devery Henderson. Well Jackson and Henderson haven't done anything and Hackett is injured.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, give me some advice on some true sleeper receivers! I looked to get Joe Jurvicius, but missed out. I'm so desparate that I'm thinking about trading a RB, Cedric Benson, for a rookie WR from kansas city, Dwayne Bowe. Bowescored 1 TD vs Chicago and Benson probably won't get much time on my team. The chiefs offense is terrible, but I figure even the worst offense can average 160 passing yards and get 12 TDs in a season. If Bowe can get 25% of that production then I'll be better off.
ugh. please help with some other alternatives! I will offer you my Riley Martin symbol in exchange for quality advice.

| It sounds like you have a deep league, so here are some guys who are probably un-owned: Roddy White - Only deep threat for Atlanta, and they're going to be playing from behind a lot. Nate Washington - Good start for week 4 if Ward is out. Nate Burleson - If the other Seattle receivers aren't available. I'd go with Engram first. Branch is probably owned. |

Hey, Don't do anything drastic with benson. Once the Bear's ORG. brings Griese in, then you can trade him 4 a #1 wide out!! As far as sleepers go...Santonio Holmes may be available, Try Greg Jennings, Lions Mcdonald & Furry, Roddy White, Bobby Engram, Brandon Jones, Lance Moore, even Marty Booker!... and sleeping sleepers- Nate Burleson, Dwayne Bowe, Nate Washington, and mayber Jacoby Jones...Hey desperete times call for intelligent measures...play matchups. ![]() |

| Here's what happened. After I drafted, what I thought was an unstoppable combo (LT & Manning), I ended up mouthing off a little too much. No one wants to cut me a deal right now to shut my fat mouth up. It's working. I may have to wait one more week when a couple guys end up starting 0-3 and will make a damn deal like Calvin Johnson for Cedric Benson. Just praying that Vincent Jackson lucks out and gets one long reception for a TD. |

| Who exactly is available? Would the potential upgrade be better than your guys? It's only been two weeks, and I think Henderson and Jackson should be productive. You don't have many trading chips as far as running back or receiver. If you deal, aim as high as you can get. Go for a lower #1 receiver if you're trying to deal Benson. Try to find a team that doesn't have much running back depth, but has receivers to spare. Maybe Benson for someone like Calvin Johnson, Laverneus Coles, Santonio Holmes, etc. |

| Unfortunately no one is available, but I could probably trade for Juravicius (no idea how to spell it) or Marshall for cedric benson. I know this is a bad move by the numbers (starting RB for #2 WR), but I have LT and Warrick Dunn (seems to be better than benson this year) at RB. should I do the trade? |

| Is Brandon Marshall available? He's my sleeper this year, currently owned in 50% of ESPN leagues. Wide receivers are a crap shoot. Antwaan Randle El explodes in week one, then scores 4 points in week two. Plaxico Burress is a monster in week one, then gets three balls thrown his way in week two. Very rarely will you get a guy who gets a ton of yards and a touchdown each week. It's best to look for guys who get consistent yardage. I like Marshall, but I'd also go for Shaun McDonald if he's available. He's the #4 guy on the Lions, but they have passed 66% of the time so far, so he'll be better than some #2 receivers. Keep Jackson. Rivers has had some tough defenses the first few weeks. |
