Week 3 PreviewPosted by jonlee in Washington, UCF, Texas, Tennessee, Rutgers, Penn State, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Northern Illinois, Norfolk State, Nebraska, NCAAF, Florida, Eastern Michigan, Buffalo |
A quick viewing guide for week three of college football with teams either getting ready for or opening up conference play all over the country. Division 1A/FBS games only (luckily for Michigan and Iowa St.)
Game of the Week:
1a) #22 Tennessee at #5 Florida: The Tim Tebow show finally goes to prime-time against Erik Ainge and the Vols.
1b) #1 USC at #14 Nebraska: Sam Kellar finally gets another shot at a top-ranked Trojan team, and the Cornhuskers get a chance to rejoin the elite of college football.
Biggest Blowouts:
Utah St. at #3 Oklahoma
Buffalo at #12 Penn State
Norfolk St. at #13 Rutgers
Upset Alerts:
#10 Ohio St. at Washington: The legend of Jake Locker would continue to grow exponentially with a win at home. If the Buckeyes lose this one, just exactly how bad is the Big 10?
#6 Texas at UCF: Why are the Longhorns even making this trip? They're clearly the better team here, but how often does UT travel east and the the Knights will be opening up their new stadium.
Slap Fight of the Week:
Eastern Michigan (0-2) [losses to Pitt(acceptable) and Ball St. (not)] at Northern Illinois (0-2) [lost to Iowa (ok) and D-IAA Southern Illinois (see Carr, Lloyd)]
