Thurs Night Football, Wk 15Posted by christner in Untagged |
Good evening sportsbettors. This weeks Thursday night contest promises to be an intense game featuring two 6-7 teams whose potential playoff lives are at stake.
HOU comes into this game with a long injury list, which is highlited by players like Matt Schaub and Ron Dayne, which means once again we will see Rosenfels @ QB and the Walker + Echemandu RB combo. DEN will miss Nick Ferguson this week, however expect Javon Walker and Stokely to be going on all cylendars. Both clubs have lost 2 of 3, but both won last week (DEN defeated KC 41-7 home, while HOU defeated TEN 28-14 @ HOU).
One of the key matchups i see in this game will be Andre Johnson vs the two DEN shutdown corners (Bly and Bailey). While this tandem has shown they are susceptable to man to man coverage, expect them to shut down the Rosenfels to Johnson combo. The DEN O-line must also keep Mario Williams in check, as he will attempt to get in Cutler's kitchen and cause havok.
Look for Cutler to get Walker more involved this week, while continuing to utilize Stokely like usual, HOWEVER, this game will be won along the ground, as both teams are mediocre against the run. Expect Selvin Young + Travis Henry and DENs #6 ranked rush off. to run the ball down the throat of HOUs #23 ranked run D. this is where DENs advantage falls, as the matchup of DEN secondary + pass D vs the HOU primarily pass-oriented offense tilts the scales in favor of DEN.
This game has DEN giving one point to HOU @ -123, meaning the spread is close to moving to -1.5 or -2, although these numbers are trivial as i believe DEN will win this one by double digits. 30-17 DEN.
cheers fellas, time for another solid week.

| good work christner, as usual, i also think that coaching will play into this as shanahan tought kubiak most of what he knows. sometimes this makes the teacher vulnerable, but in this case i believe shanahan is wise enough to outwit kubiak, not to mention the disparity in talent, later bro and keep up the good work |
