OK, so the Patriots have been caught cheating with a video camera on the side lines.  So what? Seriously, what is the big deal?  I agree, it's cheating and the Patriots and Belichick deserve to get popped for it but we're not exactly talking Watergate stuff here.

 

So enough from you Patriot haters already.  All teams try to steal signals. Why do you think coaches cover up their mouths when they call plays? Do you really think no one has ever tried to steal signals in a baseball game?  Are you not aware that cameras with zoom lenses are allowed in the booth upstairs? Oh, but for some reason that 35 degree angle makes the footage useless.

 

Again, and I can't make this point clearer, what the Patriots did was wrong and they got slapped for it but that's it.  I've heard NFL pundits do everything shy of calling Roger Goodell a coward. It's ridiculous.  The comparison to Wade Wilson is inane.  Wilson broke the law.  Not just the NFL rules, the law.  Goodell had no choice with Wilson.  Wilson broke league rules and the law and I don't think it's the league's responsibility to hire a team of private investigators and medical personnel to determine that Wade didn't give the HGH to other players and that he did indeed need it medically. Not the league's job. And I believe Wade.

 

At the end of the day, I don't see some huge unfair advantage obtained by New England. If some of the other rumors turn out to be true like odd instances relating to the booth communications, that's a whole different story but as of now, they are just that.  Rumors.

 

And my last point is that the NFL has practically brought in the NSA in Foxborough for the Charger game yet it hasn't seemed to hurt the Patriots any.  They are whipping the Charger's ass without any video camera shenanigans.

 

So can we all shut up about this now and get back to watching some football please?
