SD/MIN and BUF/CIN

Just a few quick thoughts on these games.  First of all I was surprise to find Minnesota just a one point underdog to the surging Chargers which ruined my plan to make them my upset special this week.  Look, Minnesota's offense is not built to take advantage of the Chargers lacking pass defense, but they do have a defense built to take advantage of the Chargers offense.  Minnesota is third against the run and when you force Philip Rivers to beat you, he can't, just ask Green Bay, New England, and Kansas City.  Minnesota is averaging 2.5 sacks per game and has a leaguebest 4 defensive touchdowns, meanwhile San Diego is winless in games where they throw more than they run which they will unvariably do against the league's 32nd pass defense once LT gets stuffed time after time.  Minnesota over San Diego, trust me.

Buffalo was going to be my lock this week, but due to a glitch on the picks page I was unable to pick them so I went with KC over Green Bay giving one point.  Buffalo has won 3 of 4, the only loss being to Dallas on the Monday night collapse, meanwhile Cincinnati has only won once since opening day.  The Bills will be back to Losman who started poorly, but he was handcuffed by conservative play calling to protect an injury-riddled defense.  The Bills offense is still not much, but everyone scores on the Bengals and Buffalo's defense is allowing just 14 points a game in their last four outings.  Cincinnati comes in to this game badly underachieving and fighting within still.  They have allowed 20 points or more every game this year and are still hurting at running back with Rudi Johnson and Kenny Watson, both still banged up, to split time.  Look for the Bills to beat Cincinnati at home and improve to 4-4.
