Live Blog of the NFL Draft

Usually the NFL draft is one of my favorite things in sports.  For the past two years I have taken the trip up to Pittsburgh to watch the draft at Heinz Field.  Leading up to the draft I would create countless mock drafts, trying to predict what would happen, only for that mock draft to fall to pieces by the sixth pick.  This year I haven't been as psyched for the draft, with no mock drafts, and no trip to Pittsburgh to watch the event.  That is not to say that I won't be watching.  There are still plenty of things I love about the draft, such as the trades, and the general concept of teams being rebuilt almost instantly.

This year I decided to watch the draft as a fan.  Rather than trying to predict what will happen, I decided to react to what happened.  As it so happens, my wife is out of town this weekend, and I've got the whole day cleared for the draft, which means this would be a perfect opportunity to do a running journal of today's draft.  Starting at 3:00 today I will be following the draft pick by pick, armed with a large pizza at my side, and the draft playing on the TV next to me.  This also gives me a good chance to try out a live blogging program, which I hope to eventually use for fantasy baseball chats.  Check back today at 2:45 to follow the draft with me.

Live blog starts at 2:45. Feel free to send in comments through the live blog application (they will come directly to me.) Mainly I will just be focused on blogging and testing out this program, but I'm open to comments. Some features I expect to have: YouTube videos of players who are drafted, fantasy analysis, team analysis, and I might include some polls later in the draft.
