Everybody remembers what happened back in Chicago in 2003. Two young fireballers named Kerry Wood and Mark Prior had Cy-Young caliber seasons and were poised to lead the Cubs for years to come. Instead overwork, overuse, and some bad breaks left the pair of phenoms on the proverbial scrap heap. Neither player has been able to duplicate their success of that season since. Mark Prior is currently rehabbing as a member of the San Diego Padres and hopes to join the rotation sometime this season. Kerry Wood is finally tasting some modicum of success this season, but

Reds Bats Catch Fire

Manager Dusty Baker has been tinkering with his lineup recently, and he may want to stick with the one he used Wednesday for awhile.  The Reds smacked a whopping seven homeruns among 15 total hits against the Cubs for a 9-0 victory.  Rookie Joey Votto realized some of his power potential collecting three of those dingers before grounding out in the 8th inning.  Votto, along with Adam Dunn, Paul Bako, and Jerry Hairston all homered in the second inning to chase Cubs starter Jon Lieber who had just rejoined the rotation.
