Milwaukee has won the C.C. Sabathia sweepstakes.  The Indians and Brewers have agreed to a trade will send the big lefty from the A.L. Central to the N.L. Central in exchange for prospects Matt LaPorta, Rob Bryson, Zach Jackson, and a player to be named.  Sabathia is on a tremendous run recently after a bumpy start to the season and instantly becomes one of the best players in the Senior circuit.  He has 109 strikeouts (against just 20 walks) in 104 innings with a 2.16 ERA over his last 14 starts.  He will provide a huge upgrade over Seth McClung who he will replace in the

End of the Road for Borowski

It appears as though the Joe Borowski era in Cleveland has mercifully ended.  The Indians handed Borowski a 4-3 lead last night and expected him to close it out, something he had done 45 times last season.  Julio Lugo promptly doubled to left, and two sacrifice flies later the ballgame was tied.  David Ortiz singled to center, and then Manny Ramirez bombed a batting practice softball to deep left field that proved to be the game-winner.  Borowski was promptly put on the DL with what the team termed a

But where are the clowns?
Quick, send in the clowns.
Don't bother, they're here.

Every year the Ringling Brother Circus come to the United Center, and the clowns head west for their annual beating.  The 2-8 Bulls haven't disappointed us with this year's effort with their only win coming against the hapless Clippers. At least they'll be in New York on Saturday so they should walk away with a win. The real question is which game would you rather watch the Pre-Season N.I.T. championship game on Friday or the thrilling Bulls v/s Knicks game on Saturday.

Don't look now, but the Rockies are in the World Series. The team and the players themselves probably didn't expect to be in the position they are in, but after they finished off a sweep of Arizona with a 6-4 win Monday night, it wouldn't surprise anybody to see them as World Series champions. At least, it shouldn't surprise anybody at this point because really, would anything Colorado did at this point be a shock?

The Rockies have won 20 of 21 overall beginning with a 13-0 shutout over the Marlins back on September 16. That hot streak has carried them

LCS Predictions

NLCS
Rockies in 6

I think Colorado is just too hot right now, and won't be stopped by the D-Backs. Both teams have young talented position players, but I like the Rockies hitters better. Matt Holliday is the best hitter in this series, and his team has more overall depth throughout the lineup (more power too). Outside of Brandon Webb, I don't think any of Arizona's starters can shutdown the opposing lineup, and if Webb doesn't win both of his starts the D-Backs have no shot.

Today went badly

This week was going well.......I was in the top 5 on the challenge for the week.......then today happened. 2-5 today.......went from about 1500 up to 500 down in one day. My NFL picks were good.......if they were flat wins......but three teams failed to bead the spread. Baltimore only won by 2, and Arizona and Houston only one by 3 each.......the GB one was bad though, as they failed to stop a woeful Bears team and lost by 7--the only NFL team I picked that lost straight up. Indians choked, but I don't much care about that.
