2007 NFL Year in Review: Denver Broncos

Posted by DAMAN in Untagged

Attention Goldmembers: what a year it was in the NFL, let's continue to look back, now focusing on the Denver Broncos. 2006 finish: 9-7, 2007 finish: 7-9, regression: -2. My projection: 10-6, narrowly missing playoffs. Well, I'll bet I'm not the only one who thought that the 2007 version of the Denver Broncos was a disappointment. Denver started the year 2-0, winning both games on the final play. Following the 2-0 start, Denver lost 3 straight by a combined 65 points, two of them at home. The problem? well it didn't help that Denver lost Javon

Super Bowl Game and Total

Posted by DAMAN in Untagged

Attention Goldmembers: It's finally upon us, the hype is over, and it's time to get serious; it's the Grandaddy of 'em all, oh wait that's not it, it's the(trumpet sounding) SUPER BOWL.  I know what the popular pick is for this game, and I am here to tell you that the masses are absolutely, 100% wrong.  Five times as much of the early money was coming in on the Giants as on the Patriots, which has conveniently lowered the line from 14.5 to 12.5, and I will take advantage, as should you.  Brady and his Perfectriots(I am looking at getting this nickname trademarked

NBA Daily Double

Posted by DAMAN in Untagged

Attention Goldmembers: bare with me please as I continue to work out the kinks with my basketball picking analysis; I am coming along and developing a method for noticing trends and remembering to check on daily injuries, so here we go as we look to improve on our 3-5 start.  First pick: Indiana +3.5 at home against Orlando.  Both teams played last night and neither covered, but I have to believe that the fact that Indiana is at home for both games while Orlando is traveling will be a factor, not to mention the fact that this is Orlando's 3rd game in 4 days and have a big game against

NBA Daily Double

Posted by DAMAN in Untagged

Attention Goldmembers: Tonight's picks are as follows: first pick: Boston +1 at home.  Boston getting points at home? I know KG is out, but it just doesn't matter, take the best team in the NBA getting points at home.  Second pick: Cleveland -3 at Seattle.  King James made me a believer yet again last night and you know he will be ready to go against the highly touted rookie, Kevin Durant.  That's it for today, see ya tomorrow Goldmembers.

NBA Daily Double

Posted by DAMAN in Untagged

Attention Goldmembers: we debuted the daily double yesterday with two correct picks, so let's keep the ball rolling.(pun intended)  First pick: Chicago +4.5 at Minnesota.  Does home court really mean 9 points?  Yesterday, Chicago was giving 4.5 and today they are getting it?  I cashed in on Chicago yesterday, and today we will all cash in, take the Bulls giving 4.5.  Second pick: New Orleans -8.5 at home against Golden State.  Chris Paul deserves consideration for MVP and he and the boys will show the Warriors why tonight.  Golden State can't match the

NBA Daily Double

Attention Goldmembers: Gabriel Gold is back and I am now featuring two daily NBA picks for your betting pleasure.  First pick: Boston -5 at Miami.  Even without KG, Boston is easily 5 points better than the Heatless boys from South Beach.  Take the C's -5.  Second pick: Lakers -9.5 at home against the Knicks.  Kobe has always played well against the Knicks and that won't change tonight.  LA needs all the easy victories they can get while Bynum is out in order to stay in the Western Conference picture.  Take the Lakers -9.5.  See ya tomorrow Goldmembers

PLAYOFF PICK 4 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Posted by DAMAN in Untagged

Attention Goldmembers: the conference championships are upon us, and I have all the answers for you this weekend.  Let's start with the Perfectriots against the Late Season Chargers.  San Diego has won 8 straight, which would be pretty impressive if their opponents hadn't won 17 straight.  Philip Rivers will not play, which may not be a bad thing, Gates will play limitedly at best, and LT is probably one play away from reaggravating his hyperextended knee.  The only problem the Patriots come in with is the Moss incident. Trust me, Belichik will have the boys ready

2007 NFL Year in Review: Dallas Cowboys

Posted by DAMAN in Untagged

Attention Goldmembers: we will now continue our journey back through time by looking at the Dallas Cowboys.  2006 finish: 9-7, 2007 finish: 13-3, improvement +4.  My projection: 11-5, NFC East champions, 3 seed in NFC playoffs, losing conference championship at New Orleans.  Well, I was somewhat close.(on Dallas, not New Orleans)  To be honest, I thought I would have to skip Dallas and come back to them later(I am going in alphabetical order in case you hadn't noticed), but their early exit has allowed me to keep things in order, for now.  Dallas had an outstanding

2007 NFL Year in Review: Cleveland Browns

Posted by DAMAN in Untagged

Attention Goldmembers: we will now shift the focus of our look back from disappointing teams to a pleasant surprise, the Cleveland Browns.  2006 finish 4-12, 2007 finish: 10-6, improvement +6.  My projection: 4-12, totally missed the boat on this one.  Cleveland started the year the same old Browns, getting clobbered at home by the Steelers,  34-7.  But, they traded away Charlie Frye, in stepped Derek Anderson, and the rest is history.  Anderson led the Browns to a week 2 win against division rival Cincinnati by throwing five touchdowns in a 51-45 squeaker.(The two
