Bowden Bowl IX

Posted by Fast Eddie in Untagged

Those who tuned into Bowden Bowl IX seeking a tight contest may have been disappointed, but that expectation on Monday night's game would have been unrealistic. Up until last season the Seminoles have been a part of the college football landscape. During the off-season the Noles underwent a radical face lift to address their offensive coaching staff and on Monday the college football world learned that much like Ashley Simpson after her nose job, FSU needs some time for the offense to solidify before being on anyone's top 25 list. FSU proved to be in the recovery phase of reconstructive

My NFL and NCAAF Picks

Alright hardcore sports investors, gamblers, and office pool pick ‘em players, let's look at a few upcoming football games and make some picks.  As a tease to some newbies on the site I'll reveal some of AccuScore's predictions, but I never make picks solely on one source, even a source as good as AccuScore.  I always use my brain and my expanding gut.  I also never make a pick involving teams that I haven't seen on TV.

So here are a few picks I'm making today. I'll add to this the closer we get to kick-off, but these

Week One Picks - Part 1

Colts -6

Bet the Colts over the Saints and give the points.  The stregnth of the Saints defense is DE Will Smith defending the middle of the defensive line.  The Saints will be decent blocking the run against most squads, but not the Colts who will have their "Stretch Play" on display Sunday running towards the flats instead of up the middle.  The Colts wideouts will feast on the Saints cornerbacks.  Take the Colts and give the points.

The Week 1 Blues

Only the first week of the season is in the books and I already have my fatal attraction back for college football.

Yes Michigan and Applachian State dominated the headlines, but there are several other schools who should be brought up on charges of contenders or pretenders.

 Contenders:

Cal showed against Tennessee that for the first game of the year they are the best team in the Pac-10.  Cal dominated on offense, defense and special teams and have the one item USC lacks, a playmaker.  See DeSean Jackson.  Last year he returned 20% of his returns for touchdowns

After realizing that it takes only about 20 minutes to analyze each season's week one with the system, I decided to bust out each year in one night, finally tiring around 3 and pushing the 2006 season off until 9:30 this morning.  The trends that the system came up with are encouraging, and I plan on using this post to analyze each game type individually, to find the best route to take.  At the end of this post I will include my suggestions for the week one system picks.  Let's get started.

4-4

The first picks are the 4-4 picks.

BOWDEN BOWL IX.... Excuse Me While I Rest My Eyes

The chips were placed in their selective bowls, the salsa 7-layer dip prepared to perfection, the guest list waiting in a line 8 deep out the door.  For what you ask?  Bowden Bowl IX - Unfortunately after a first half blowout, the majority of the guest list found themselves channel-changing out of the game and into a more interesting re-run
