Injury: Bad Luck or Just Part of the Game

Posted by FanProphet in Untagged

I just wrote an article for FIO entitled "The Correct Decision: Don't Blame it on Luck". The entire premise of the article is to come prepared, make the correct decisions, finish strong, and never blame your poor decisions on bad luck.

If any of you have read my previous rants about how great Brandon Jacobs will be this season and how nobody in the NFL wants to tackle him, then you probably already know how I feel about what a great runner he will be

ALABAMA VS ARKANSAS

Being a resident of Alabama and following them closely, it appears that this team which many of the Crimson Tide nation picked to do extremely well with the presence of savior Nick Saban, might not be too bad afterall. Completely dominating a miniscule Western Carolina team was expected, however, going to Nashville and beating up a Vanderbilt team that could arguably be one of the best Commedore teams ever, shows a true change in not only the attitude surrounding this team, but a physical dominance over their opponents unseen since perhaps 92'. But what am I saying? It

World Series Parlay

While football is the main thing on everyone's minds, baseball is going through a great season this year.  It hasn't gone un-noticed by me.  Maybe that is because my fantasy baseball teams are both in first place, with one of them just dominating my league.  Maybe it's because the Pirates have finally fired their General Manager, which I have been waiting for since the 2003 season.  Maybe it's because there are a lot of great pennant races going on, and almost anyone could win the World Series.  A few years ago I picked the Astros and White Sox to go to

Sunday Review, Monday Picks, and Fantasy Football

Before I get to the breakdown of the football picks from yesterday, I'm going to bore you with some fantasy talk.  I don't mean that I'm going to talk about my teams, because you're not interested that I'm holding a lead in 4 of my 5 leagues, and that I left 60-80 points on the bench in almost all of my leagues.  I'm just going to talk fantasy football for a bit, and I know that's boring because I put two fantasy columns up, and 85 people read them.  177 people read my picks for Sunday.  That tells me that either you don't care about fantasy

The first week of the NFL season is finally here.  I for one am ecstatic.  I even got my wife to play in our annual family fantasy football league.  The big games I get to watch today?  Miami at Washington.  And that's it.  Sure, there will be San Diego and Chicago, then Dallas and New York tonight, but one freaking game during the day?  I can't take it.  I need to get DirecTV.  There's no getting around it.  Since apparently it takes 6 weeks to get the DirecTV people to come to your house and install the package, I'm setting

Michigan Falls on Grenade to save Ohio State

"This is truly one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for us," said freshman special teamer Jason Orbott.  Jason plays for the Ohio State Buckeyes. "We expected a really tough battle this year in the Big 10 and now thanks to the generosity in Ann Arbor, it looks like we just have to worry about Wisconsin now."

This has to be the most disastrous fall in the history of sport, barring maybe that "agony of defeat guy" who eats it on the ski jump.  God, that still hurts just thinking about it. Who was that guy? Did he live?

Monopoly Picks

I'm not a guy who likes to lose.  If I'm playing a game, regardless of how simple it is, or whether it is supposed to be fun, I'm playing to win.  Otherwise what's the point?  This, of course, drives my wife crazy, especially when we're playing Monopoly.  In all fairness she is only a cold hearted business woman during that game, and never in instances such as when I'm trying to barter with someone over the cost of an arbitrarily priced item (like the "Rolex" watches you get in New York that break a week later, so you negotiate the guy down

Week One Picks - Part 2

 Vikings -3.5 over the Falcons

Vikings have the most underrated defense in the league and the best offensive line in the league.  The Falcons will not be able to move the ball on the Vikings who will eat the clock up over the course of the game.  This line of 3.5 points indicates that since home field is worth roughly 3 points the Vikings are favored by .5 points.  The Vikings are the better team.

Denver (-3.5) over Buffalo

Buffalo's strength is Losman throwing the deep ball to Evans, but that will not work against Champ Bailey.

Meatballs

By the title of this post you're probably thinking of pasta, maybe some spaghetti and meatballs.  I'm not about to talk about those types of meatballs.  What I'm going to talk about are people who act like total meatballs.  I just feel like throwing these thoughts out there, maybe because I want to stir the pot, and maybe because I get a little irritated at times with people.

In life you're always going to have the whiners and complainers.  You're always going to have the people wanting a free ride and not wanting to do any work to get to their
