Wide Receiver Sleepers?????

Posted by lookingforupsets in Untagged

Don't ask me how I did it, but I managed to draft LT and Peyton Manning.   I couldn't get any top receivers so I went with the ever so popular "sleepers", Vincent Jackson, DJ Hackett and Devery Henderson.   Well Jackson and Henderson haven't done anything and Hackett is injured.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, give me some advice on some true sleeper receivers!  I looked to get Joe Jurvicius, but missed out.  I'm so desparate that I'm thinking about trading a RB, Cedric Benson, for a rookie WR from kansas city, Dwayne Bowe.  Bowe

Longhorns Most Overrated Team on Earth

Not saying this isn't a great program, just saying this isn't a great program this year. Colt McCoy looks lost. I really think he's only the starting QB because  he has a cool, Texan sounding name.

The Horns barely beat unranked Arkansas State on a onside kick that featured a VERY questionable penalty. Then they hang on against Central Florida and still nearly gave the game back to them at the end with a dumb fumble.

And it's a sad state of affairs that Texas is still ranked as high as they are, #6 in some polls. They will cruise through the rest of the season

Time to buy on Steven Jackson/Larry Johnson

So you're a Larry Johnson owner and you're considering your third overall pick in the first round pick a bust?  Maybe you bought in to the hype that Steven Jackson was the sure bet at the number two pick.  And if you drafted number one, you were guaranteed a championship with LT on your team, although that's looking kind of dim too.  Maybe you're neither, and you're sitting pretty with one of your late first round picks, or a 6th round stud like LaMont Jordan.  Regardless of where you stand, don't expect the current production of the top three running

My Week 4 College Football Picks

Posted by oh_steve in Untagged

My College Football picks have been 6-1 this season so I'm going to do something which I usually hate to do --- try to ride a hot streak and stick with college football rather than "diversify" with NFL or MLB picks.

CLEMSON @ NC STATE: Pick Clemson (-7.0)

Clemson is like Poor Man's Oklahoma.  Multiple, great Running Backs and an accurate passer in Cullen Harper who has yet to throw an interception in 276 career pass attempts. NC State has intercepted opposing QBs just once this year.  NC State is averaging 1.6 turnovers per simulation while Clemson is

Week 3: Colts at texans

This is my heavily biased (criticism and debate is welcome, but not the first without the second) preview of the upcoming matchup between the Colts and the texans that will take place on Sunday, the 23rd:

First off, let's address the history between the two teams. The Colts and texans have faced off a total of ten times over the last five seasons, so twice each year, which makes since seeing how they are in the same division. The Colts have won 9 of those 10 games, and their only loss

The Juice Is Loose Once Again

By now you've all probably heard about O.J. Simpson and his, how should I put this...extracurricular "exploits." Well, he was released from jail today, and it would seem with his past that one would want to distance themself from such a controversial figure. Well one place that doesn't seem to see it that way is USC, where of course the former running back went to school. There was a great article about it today in the LA Daily News (read about it here).

Here's a quick quote from

Wizards, Go Get Kirilenko

I know 99.999% of you reading this have no interest in the moves that the Washington Wizards should make this off-season, but I'm going to go ahead and write a few words on why I'd love to see if the disgruntled Andrei Kirilenko would be available for Antawn Jamison.

Jamison can get a ton of points but with Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler we don't need another perimeter scorer.  Jamison is listed as PF, but he is certainly not a low post scorer in the NBA like he was in college.  I know he averages 10 rebounds, but when you are playing a ton of minutes, on a team

NFL System Projections for Week 3

I will probably do an analysis of the previous week 3 results later in the week.  For now I don't have time to run through those results, but I do have the system projections for this week, along with some opinions on the projections.  There were a few surprises, and a few games that were expected.  Now, on to the games:

IND (-6) @ HOU:  HOU 3-3-2

The Texans have one of the best rushing defenses, one of the best turnover ratios (7 to 3), an average rushing attack, and only 2 sacks total!  I don't care who they've played, they would be at least

NFL Truths After Week 2

Posted by twilliams in Tim WilliamsNFLFootballFantasy

Nothing is set in stone in the NFL after only two weeks. However, there are a lot of trends that have emerged. Some of these trends are misleading. Some of these trends are forecasting what we will see for the rest of the season. Last season the Saints were 2-0 going in to week three. They were underdogs to the Falcons, who entered the week 2-0 as well. Everyone was hoping the Saints would win, but no one really thought they would dominate the Falcons from the start. After winning 20-3, the Saints went on to a 10-6 season, and to the NFC Championship.&

The Patriots Caught Cheating: BFD, Get Over It

OK, so the Patriots have been caught cheating with a video camera on the side lines.  So what? Seriously, what is the big deal?  I agree, it's cheating and the Patriots and Belichick deserve to get popped for it but we're not exactly talking Watergate stuff here.

So enough from you Patriot haters already.  All teams try to steal signals. Why do you think coaches cover up their mouths when they call plays? Do you really think no one has ever tried to steal signals in a baseball game?  Are you not aware that cameras with zoom lenses are allowed in the
